Fusarium Dry Rot of Garlic Bulbs Caused by Fusarium proliferatum: A Review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Fusarium dry rot (FDR) is a postharvest disease of garlic crops causing yield losses worldwide. proliferatum has been identified as the main species disease. Symptoms begin small brown lesions with dehydrated appearance that can progress to cover entire clove during storage period. on growing plants cause basal plates and roots, sometimes damping-off observed. F. polyphagous pathogen wide range hosts. This colonizes remaining latent pathogen, develops storage. The overwinter in soil, infested crop residues, weeds. fungus also persist cloves, acting primary inoculum field contributing long-distance spread. Using healthy plant material, rotating crops, burying avoiding bulb injury harvest subsequent handling, providing appropriate environmental conditions are crucial factors greatly influence severity. Choosing suitable non-host achieve truly effective rotation difficult. Chemical control form seed treatments or spraying limited effect controlling FDR. Field applications biological agents have shown some efficacy, but optimize their activity must be determined. Moreover, different soil management strategies reduce studied.

Root Rot of Balloon Flower (Platycodon grandiflorum) Caused by Fusarium solani and Fusarium oxysporum

Balloon flower (Platycodon grandiflorum) is a kind of mountain herbs whose roots have restorative properties and the cultivating acreage of balloon flower has been steadily increasing in Korea. More frequent rain and high amount of rainfalls as a result of climate changes predisposed balloon flower to the outbreaks of root rot at high-density cultivation area in recent years. Root crowns were u...

Granulomatous Pododermatitis in the Digits Caused by Fusarium proliferatum in a Cat

To the best of our knowledge, we present here the first report of a case involving granulomatous pododermatitis caused by Fusarium proliferatum in a 10-year-old female cat. A cutaneous mass developed on the foot-pad of the right hind leg. Nodular granulomatous dermatitis with numerous macrophages and multinucleated giant cells containing cytoplasmic fungal structures were revealed on histologic...

Quantitative Determination of Fusarium proliferatum Concentration in Intact Garlic Cloves Using Near-Infrared Spectroscopy

Fusarium proliferatum is considered to be a pathogen of many economically important plants, including garlic. The objective of this research was to apply near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to rapidly determine fungal concentration in intact garlic cloves, avoiding the laborious and time-consuming procedures of traditional assays. Preventive detection of infection before seeding is of great inter...

Degradation of 3,9-Dimethoxypterocarpan and Medicarpin by Fusarium proliferatum

Phytoalexins, 3,9-Dimethoxypterocarpan, Medicarpin, Fusarium, Degradation, Demethylation The degradation of 3,9-dimethoxypterocarpan was investigated in selected strains of Fusarium. Fusarium proliferatum (/'. e. Gibberella fujikuroi (SAW)WR) degrades this substrate via 3-methoxy-9-hydroxypterocarpan, 3,9-dihydroxypterocarpan and 2',4',7-trihydroxyisoflavan. During degradation by this organism ...

Wheat kernel black point and fumonisin contamination by Fusarium proliferatum.

Fusarium proliferatum is a major cause of maize ear rot and fumonisin contamination and also can cause wheat kernel black point disease. The primary objective of this study was to determine whether nine F. proliferatum strains from wheat from Nepal can cause black point and fumonisin contamination in wheat kernels. For comparison, the study included three Fusarium strains from US maize. In test...
